According to the estimate released earlier in 2016, the decline in 2015 was the lowest Detroit has seen in decades, if not the lowest since the population decline started in the 1950s. I wouldn't be surprised to see an estimated population increase in the next year or two. Granted, even if Detroit grows for the rest of the decade it will most likely have a net negative population increase by 2020.
