Looks like the U.S. meat industry has been getting offshored anyway:
DetroitYES Home » Non Detroit Issues » Thom Hartmann » United States Sued over Country of Origin Labeling!
Is there anything left to be made in the U.S.? Oh, yeah. The military industrial complex.
You are correct. Though the National American Meat Packers cites Canadian and Mexican tariffs as the reason for the COOL removal, the real reason is the herd can be raised and slaughtered elsewhere @ a much lower price, then sold as Bag 'er, Dave or Wahlmartbergers @ premium prices. What should have been done years ago, is impose the same tariffs on imports the are imposed on USA exports to even the playing field. But that's not what this is about. This is about the 1% increasing their profit margin @ the expense of the middle and lower classes. You want to remain in office comfortably? Well, here's a list of what we need......Looks like the U.S. meat industry has been getting offshored anyway:

If it wasn't for the Military Industrial Complex, this forum wouldn't exist, Lowell would be thrown off of the Book Cadillac tied to a chair, [[1-1-16, if they have any sense of humor) and we'd all be wearing Hajibs. Just ask a Syrian near you.

Easy now, folks. We wouldn't want to start "disparaging" food, or Rick Perry will come after you. This is another thing that makes Obama an ideal Trojan horse that many corporate-favoring Repubs value. Obama making no headway in improving rights for workers and consumers alike from Corporate bullying is another thing you will not hear the Republicans criticize him for.
Hah, he's s a Trojan horse for so much move over to make yet more room!

And don't forget the Media Industrial Complex which spins daily, varying the cycle only when dissent is least possible and probable....
Doesn't the repeal just remove the requirement? I'm pretty sure the distributors can still put the country of origin on the packages if they want to.
