I can imagine a scenerio where someone with hopeless financial problems might think they can solve them at a casino. That would be a tragic mistake.

Casinos are very practiced at extracting money from their patrons. That's practically all they do. Besides, someone with financial problems isn't likely to have a large enough bankroll to survive the inevitable losing streaks.

I really hope people with financial problems aren't falling into this trap.

Has it even been decided yet if the person jumped or pushed? Even if they did jump we do not have the facts as to why. Quite honestly I think it is a p@ssy way out but it is an easy place to jump from. Whether they lost their money at my favorite casino or for any other reason, I only feel bad for the ones this selfish person left behind [[if there are any). Seems like people always want to jump [[no pun intended) to conclusions. As far as the economy and foreclosures are concerned, what is the difference what the reason is while not nearly enough people are interested in fixing the problem. How many registered Detroit voters voted the other day, 15% I heard [[I am not saying that is accurate)?

When people don't provide information, all you can do is speculate. But it gets really juicy when the fact that no further information is provided suggests one scenario over all others: He lost all his money at the casino and offed himself. That's when everybody closes ranks and you never hear about it again. Just like the dude who jumped six months ago.

Diver...that13th Floor Elevator can only lead to an apparition of Art Linkletter's daughter in a cheer leader costume urging you on and beckoning from outside the window. Much safer to take Trans-Love Airways...Gets you there on time!

Diver, if you happen to run into the Bookman at the film showing at the DIA tonight, he's planning a get together of the "Beat Elite" this Wednesday at his place on the shores of Lake Huron. I'll be there under the radiance of the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower hoping to catch Visions of Coyote. Hope to see you there? I can guarantee there will be no windoows to jump out of.

I know too and I tried to explain that point about the relationship with casinos but someone on this board said that was not possible. That casinos are at the bottom of the list when it come to people losing their homes.

Back when I worked in a casino in Reno in the '90s, you'd have a jumper every month or two. It was commonplace, nothing to get excited about. Just a normal by-product of casino culture.

I know there are some "strong" people that resist the lure of a casino but there are some who aren't. I tried to explain to a poster earlier how casinos could play a central part in the downfall of anyone out here catching hell but he wasn't feelin' me. The guy who died, died because he left out of the casino surrounded by hell and Hell isn't a pretty place to admire.

I've never understood the allure of Casinos. When I'm invited to go, I take a small set amount, lose that and leave. Never my idea to go. That's a cash factory, and these folks aren't in business to hand out money. I don't know how many wannabe gamblers I've spoke with who claim they are "bout' even", if that many were "bout' even" that Casino wouldn't be standing there. Stay out of them places, unless you're just rich and have some money to piss away. If you are, there are much more worthy causes to direct your abundance towards.

And the claim that many screw themselves up financially up to and not excluding foreclosure and bankruptcy has teeth to it, I know several people who have wound up that way. I'm sure the News poo-poo's down any bad press, considering the Casinos, are one of the cities main sources of revenue.

Remember the cop that shot himself in the Casino? I think it was the blackjack table.

I know of two separate stories, where a man is getting ready to retire and his wife informs him he can't because she's gambled their savings away and remortgaged the house, unbeknown to him.

Thanks for the travel tip. Considering my history of showing up unexpectedly, it might just happen. Good luck with your vision quest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DF3ZTJjzOew
