    Thanks for the real life example. That's what I was trying to express earlier. While Protestant churches may not expressly forbid this, and it's not a violation of separation of church and state, it is contrary to what the Protestant bible calls for, a consecration of priests/ministers to spiritual service and a separation of the same from anything that might pollute them [[like politics).

    I don't want my council members calling me a sinner because I like to go to strip clubs and don't attend church on Sundays. I have nothing against men and women of faith, but the idea that they can run for office and preach God's law and at the same time work on man's law is a cultural clash which is why some people did not want church and state to mingle.

    ..so when issues come up concerning things like casinos, bars and strip clubs, would Spivey be expected to "punish" such institutions?

    With respect the the various perks of office [[i.e., leased car, full salary, expense account, etc.), would he decline them [[since, he presumably has perks already), or fully take advantage?
