I received the following video link from Jeff Sturges of the Mt. Elliot Makerspace that brightened this wintry day. Jeff is one of the most creative, positive and community-minded people you will ever hope to meet. I first met him when he did the magical illumination of the abandoned Highland Park Ford HQ building as part of his art degree work.

But it was not just a detached artist, show up, throw it up and run. As shown from the above link to the event, he organized a free BBQ, engaged the community and passerby's. After a hiatus from Detroit, he returned to become engaged in the hackerspace movement first with OmniDetroit in eastern market then branching off to create the Mt. Elliot Makerspace to engage the local community youth.

Among the many positive outcomes is this collaboration for last year's D'electricity event.

A nice break from the contentious topics we encounter.
