Greetings. I am a fire service historian [[in NC), who researched and photographed numerous historic Detroit firehouses in 2010. This month I have revisited and expanded my research, and posted everything at http://www.legeros.com/history/detroit

Looks like DFD [[as a career fire department) had 107 different engine and ladder houses over the decades and centuries. [[And watch for maps of these locations from FDmaps.com, which is coming soon. That's another NC-based site.)

My primary sources are DFD historian records, Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, DFD history books, Detroit Public Library photos, and this Discuss Detroit thread started in 2006: http://www.atdetroit.net/forum/messa...tml?1173935391

Anyone with an interest in this subject is welcome to post edits or additional information about these buildings. Or drop me a private message. [[I'm just a long-distance researcher, so bear with my errors!) Hope you enjoy!
