At 5'6" that isn't a problem for him. And yet he towers over us. 'Little Big Man' indeed.

Let's face it, the lending business today is so complicated that you can't understand it unless you do it for a living. Lenders can talk circles around critics because they know the critics don't have the know-how to break everything down themselves. The crookedness of what's going on in the financial industry is obvious, but hey, if Dan says that's the way it's always been done and throws out a few bits of lingo, that's that.

Dan Gilbert is a the 'Donald Trump' of Detroit. Just 3 years ago. He decided to move his Quicken Loans and Bedrock Holdings to Downtown Detroit starting with the Chase Tower Building. It the time Chase Tower Building was 25% occupied. Nobody even use the escalators to the private banking centers. I didn't ever know there were 10 extra lobby elevators other then the 3 front elevators to office complexes. Now the entire building is 100% occupied. When Gilbert more Downtown Detroit buildings. He fix them up and brought more millennial generated regional businesses. Today most of the his Downtown [[ or should I say Gilberttown) Detroit buildings are 95 to 98 percent occupied. I would thank him for not only saving historic Downtown Detroit buildings. He made them retro-cool and ready for businesses. Over 25,000 to 40,000 more jobs are coming to Detroit. Dan Gilbert gave to economic boost.

Criticism of Dan's business aside, you'd be hard-pressed to make an argument that he hasn't improved downtown. He's done a lot of good in that regard. Face it, the only way you could make Metro Times truly happy with the resurgence downtown is if it was 100% the work of hipster crafters, nonprofit tech startups, and vertical farmers. And even then, the MT would make snide remarks about how it's all trust fund kids and hipsters.

    MT is only barely relevant.

You hit the nail squarely on the head with that comment. Any newspaper, and I use the term extremely loosely when it comes to the MT, that derives such a great percentage of its advertising revenue from transvestite prostitutes, drug businesses, and personal ads from people seeking perverted sex play can hardly be taken seriously.

"perverted sex play"? At least you're not judgmental.

Dan Gilbert is truly a force. "Gilberttown" reference aside, even Danny sees the positive influence he has for our city.

I understand your point, but I'd consider being compared to Donald Trump to be an extreme insult.
