So, as I was eating my eggs yesterday [[over easy), I only had to make it to page 5 of the New York Times Sunday paper to see this full page ad:

A NEW DAY
A BRIGHT FUTURE

Congratulations to the City of Detroit, Mayor Duggan,
City Council and Emergency Manager Kevin Orr on a
job well done. Your tireless and spirited efforts were
instrumental in guiding the city -- in record time -- through
the largest municipal bankruptcy in history.

CONWAY MACKENZIE IS PROUD TO SERVE AS OPERATIONAL
RESTRUCTURING ADVISOR TO THE CITY OF DETROIT.

Then they list their offices: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Dayton, Detroit, Frankfurt, Houston, London, Los Angeles, New York.

You know the only one not located within the central city? Yup. Conway Mackenzie Detroit is located in Birmingham, MI.

I wonder how many millions they profited from Detroit's bankruptcy? Certainly enough that they had a few extra shekels to buy a pricey NYT full page ad for self-promotion.

I'd be much more impressed if they actually located their offices within the city limits.

Next week, I think I'd like my eggs poached.
