i was in this area two days ago. it's not that confusing. we got turned around a couple times, but if you ease off the gas and take the time to notice which way the arrows point, you won't end up in canada.

    LOL.... only in America.....

At least in Britain you can't take a left at the roundabout and end up in France!

[[without driving onto a train car first... )

Yesterday [[August 4, 2009) the motorhome of "The Motorhome Diaries" documentary tour took a trip around Detroit. This is a national tour by two libertarian activists "looking for freedom in America" and documenting their findings as they go. While touring the Detroit riverfront, the motorhome took a wrong turn owing to inadequate signs and wound up crossing the Ambassador Bridge. The Bridge only charged them one toll, but it cost them two hours with Canadian immigration officials, and another two hours to re-enter the U.S. [[This was after being refused entry into Canada several weeks earlier, owing to unresolved charges following a traffic stop in Mississippi that went badly wrong after the libertarians attempted to videotape the cops searching their motorhome, and because Canadian officials were afraid the journalists' laptops contained "heinous propaganda" that would be harmful to Canadians. Remember the U.S. government claims the right to seize your laptop for inspection at the border. So much for freedom in America.)

So they didn't see quite as much of Detroit as they would have.

I'm glaid I found this post. I was driving down the service Thursday and before I knew it I was in line to go to Canada and it sure wasn't possible to just back up because of the traffic volume. I felt like a damn fool. They had me sign a sheet and wait in an area until somebody from the bridge could guide me out of there. The customs officer was very thorough. Man I didn't even go to Canada! I felt a little better when I saw the sheet; there were a lot of damn fools that had done the same thing. I swear there was no warning whatsoever about going into Canada until it was too late

I dunno. I've noticed a marked improvement in some of the signage and blocking off each lane for local and bridge traffic in the past month.

Folks need to pay better attention I guess.

That's too much for a Detroit driver.

This is the same metropolitan area that drives normal speed on the expressway in a blizzard.
