LTU Midtown construction finally starts!!!

I live directly across from this site, I was rudely awaken this morning from loud crackling noises. The trees has been cut down and the land is being cleared. Its fenced off and the sidewalks are cut off now. Woodward will be lined up with cranes all year long! Excited.

And if anyone forgot .. LTU isn't the only tenant... there's another restaurant on the way to that block! ... Really hope that McDonald's disappears and is replaced by a real building sometime.. especially since Hopcat is gonna be open this fall... one can only dream

"LTU’s design center will occupy 14,000 square feet of space in the new building, while the remaining 16,000 square feet will be shared between Quinn Evans, Invest Detroit and an unnamed restaurant. LTU is expected to move in by fall 2014."

Saw excavation work underway this morning, confirming the reports that they would begin within a month. Great news for the neighborhood.

The fence is up on the corner of Woodward and Willis and Earth Movers are pushing away the dirt. The New Laurence Tech Annex Building is about to begin.
