New Restaurant Coming To Downtown, Again!

I was told by an Asian friend that most Thai restaurants in the Detroit area are actually run by Hmong Americans. My latest favorite Thai restaurant is Orchid Thai on Monroe in the Compuware garage building. As it turns out, they are Hmong.

I believe the food they offer is pretty typical Thai cooking. From what I understand Hmong cuisine is unique, although it has Chinese, Vietnamese, Lao and Thai influences.
