So what's new it has been altered, edited. misconstrued since it was compiled.
They were fighting, literally, since Constantine's time. Great stories of the rough and tumble Bishops during the The First Council of Nicaea.
I understand this is one of the reasons the Roman Catholic Church would rather have PaPa interpret and render the message contained in the Bible.
I thought they already did this a few years ago. Maybe they just proposed it then and now they're just getting around to doing it. Oh, yeah:So much for Biblical fundamentalism. In the several years since their translation project was inaugurated, all of the New Testament and several books of the Old have been thoroughly revised.
Maybe they'll correct the glaring omission of any mention of His Noodly Appendage.
Many of the apocryphal gospels read like Buddhist texts. So what's new it has been altered, edited. misconstrued since it was compiled.

Some of the newer translations were taken from the earliest Greek and Aramaic texts...and came out sounding much more liberal
In my experience there are more newer 'progressive' translations out there now tending towards the more neutral and politically correct -- yet it's still to get around areas such as John 3:16...
seems they were fighting well before Constantine, but wasn't the whole reason for the council due to Arianism? So what's new it has been altered, edited. misconstrued since it was compiled.

In the early days of Christianity, the leaders wanted everyone to read the gospels, thus Christianity produced the highest percentage of literate Romans of any group. When Rome started actively hunting down Christians, it became a problem because they swept up many of their most capable administrators. When Constantine went against Maxentius, he brought Christians into his army, which brought him victory. He then rewarded the Christians with land grants, etc. [[whether he converted to a monotheistic Christianity or not is very disputable, although he did claim belief in Christ, he also styled himself as Jupiter's Legate until the day he died). However, in determining WHICH groups to back, he found that the Christians were too fractious. He then called the council to unify the disparate congregations. After this, non-clerical reading of the Gospels was frowned upon, and Rome changed from "persecuting Christians" to persecuting Christians who didn't abide by the edicts put forth ant Nicaea - the Gnostics, Donatists and other heretics [[a heretic was one who dared "make his own choice" in matters of faith, rather than going along with the official church)

That's right. Over thousands of years there are many Gospels writing by other disciples that were tossed away in the fire. It's the Roman Catholic's way to separate the heretics and blasphemers for the ones who were righteous for Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Most Gospels writing by other disciples and apostles are true that the Roman Catholics kept in hidden in the Holy See. Only the clergy can have access to those lost scriptures. What we have in the Holy Bible is what we receive from the Word of God. If you think that your bible contains misinterpreted scriptures, get a new bible and check its scriptures carefully before reading.
Now check out about this documentary about this guy named Jack Chick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o36JxVEh_yo It's time bring back the revival! The Word of God doesn't have to be conservative , democratic or socialist. IT ONLY PURE TRUTH!
