I hope those who love Leland are aware of Keith Burnham's website,
http://www.lelandreport.com/
a beautiful daily photo/s of the area. I click on this every day from my home here in the Nevada desert!!
Of all the places listed I've been to 6 of them including Leland. They're all fantastic but I have to say North Shore of Oahu is the best I've seen. But I'll vote for Leland since its Michigan. Lived on Oahu for 5 years and only saw the green flash at sunset once, its pretty rare.

Ray, thanks for that link. I bookmarked it and will probably look at it most days, too.
I've seen desert sunsets, Caribbean sunsets, west coast sunsets. To me, it isn't so much the place as the atmosphere. Give me a nice, lacy cirrus sunset any day, anywhere. Billow cumulus are a close second [[those are those stipes or rolls of clouds that for when altocumulus or cirrocumulus clouds get ripped apart by shear forces)
Agreed, I've seen amazing sunsets right here in metro Detroit. The ash from Mt St. Helens in the atmosphere made for some spectacular sunsets in the South Pacific. The daily sunset parties in Key West are wild. All the conks and freaks with iguanas not to mention skimpy bikinis makes it interesting.
