What happens first: $650M Ilitch Red Wings development, or $500M Gilbert development? It's the perfect grudge match: Ilitch's sandbagging of downtown developments after he announces them vs Gilbert trying to deal with an inept city that doesn't realize a life saver when it needs it most.

... well in this case its a county. CoD is not going to have much to do with Gilbert's moves on the County property. The question is who's ox is getting gored on this deal and how much pull do they have with Ficano?

I would think its a win-win though. the ficano cronies that botched the jail the first time get a do-over to fleece the county again building the new complex.

it does concern me from the get go that the rendering doesnt at all reflect the proposed use of space. with that said it is interesting and i wonder if this will force gilbert to put out some renderings.
