Oval Track at Southfield Road and Ford Freeway

Since the "track" doesn't exist in the 1949 aerial photo, and is just a shadow by the 1956 photo, I tend to think that DetroitPlanner's answer is probably correct. It is possible that it was a very short-lived 'bull ring' dirt auto racing track, as there were a few of those around the Detroit area, but I can find no record of anything like that in that area.
