Palin is out! This will be a crashing blow to the Republican Party. She will lose the 2012 election. Enjoy your Alaskan frontier, Palin.

Lorax, very good post. It might explain Bushki, holding office. Palin is held high in the eyse of only 30% of the base, which includes, religious nuts, trailer trash hillbillies and the non-educated. This will not win elections, except in the south and rural counties. I'd like to see her run to lose, but she won't make it out of the primaries, if she does try.

This is just a big joke. No one would have ever paid ANY attention to this lady if she wasn't always saying & doing such strange things. Though I was pretty amused watching Bill O'Reilly get ticked off because Karl Rove would not agree with him that her resignation was a good thing.

Thanks- the whole thread is a red-herring. She not going to win any higher office than she has now. Maybe a senatorial seat, but that would be stretching it a bit.

One sure thing is that she will be in the headlines, one way or another until 2012, maybe beyond.

It's about making hay [[money) while the sun shines. She's tired of being both trailer trash, and poor. Now she can jabber on like a magpie for Fox, or some other fascist noise source.

Let me understand what you just said to Big Dog: Thanks for your support and by the way, the whole thread you started is a red herring.

Did you hear her say she was running for higher office or hear Fox say they wanted her for their news? If she wants to be on TV, it should be a stand there moron job like Howie Mandel has. Nothing better could happen to help the Republican party get the essential independant voters than to get Bush and Palin out of politics. Well, maybe get Rove and Cheney out. Obama may have been pretty shrewd keeping them out of prison and in the news.

Interesting thought, I hadn't considered that. Perhaps they do more of a service to Democracy by continuing the sideshow. Though prison would have been an incidental pleasure to progressives!

I mentioned the red-herring not in disrespect, but to point out the futility of Saracuda from pursuing and grabbing that brass ring. Aint' gonna happen. If I thought the thread wasn't worth responding to, I wouldn't have participated.

If this guy bombed Canada, some of you find some way to twist it into something positive. Yeah, that's why he didn't go after the war criminals, so he could humiliate them in the media. Brother...

Where do you get "humiliate in the media" from?

It was thoughtful and critical of the post to ask what the motivation was behind not pursuing criminal investigations.

And frankly, it makes alot of sense. Let them implode of their own accord. Or, as in one of my favorite Shakespearian lines: "hoisted on her own petard."

The media needs to do nothing more than turn on the cameras and microphone, Saracuda can provide the rest.

Depends on whether Detroit got Casino Windsor as part of its tax base. Just kidding. Its just nice to have a President that seems like he's well read rather than one that just claims to be.

What do you have against "My Pet Goat?"

I hear it's the headliner at the Bush Presidential Libraree.

You are quite correct. I hate to say I've only scanned through it a few times & need to read it thoroughly.
Regarding the quote, there's nothing wrong in allowing your enemy to exhaust himself by wasting resources, time & energy. From that I'm reminded of a military axiom: Amateurs study tactics while Professionals study logistics.

    This woman is a mess.

First she says she's not a quitter, then quits. She then says she wants to save Alaskan tax payer's future money from "frivolous" investigations, is there more hidden corruption that has yet to be brought to light?

Then, in the same interview, she babbles on about the White House Law Department, is this the same as the Justice Department? Do her supporters still think she was qualified to be vice president, or, God forbid, president?

Later her lawyer said that Letterman's jokes about her contributed to her decision to resign. What, she can't take the heat of the spotlight? Clinton and Bush sure were the brunt of many comedian's jokes and yet they didn't whine and run away.

At every stop, Sarah has played the victim card. One would think that would be a turnoff for the conservative wing in this country, as they are all about "being tough" and standing up to adversity.

She relished the spotlight and basked in the glow of celebrity life, but now claims she wants to be left alone with her family. You can't have it both ways, if you accept a national profile, you take the good with the bad. Its called personal accountability.

I would love to see her just fade into history but I suspect she will continue to pop up as time goes on as she craves attention and has quite an ego.

    No kidding.

I love her statement yesterday that she was "keeping her eye on the basket" a basketball reference, though has double meaning, probably unbeknownst to a neophyte political trog such as Saracuda.

She had better keep her eye on Todd's basket, since he's out on the briney 3 months at a stretch with a bunch of guys.....

I can't wait to hear conservatives explain what the White House Department of Law is and how your not really a quitter when you quit in the face of adversity.

Also today, a conservative group in Alaska has filed a complaint about more ethics violations regarding her receiving a per diem while living in Anchorage instead of Juneau. These continued complaints could be the real reasons she fled the office.

Well, why would she receive per diem when she was working from home?

State employees working from home here in MI aren't supposed to get per diem. That's for meals and lodging when you are not at home or at one of your office locations. She has a satellite office in Anchorage and her home is in Wasilla, so why get per diem for either of those? Or for Juneau for that matter, since she has the governor's home there. She should get it for going to Kotzebue, though [[unless she is a guest of the town and they feed her).

What adversity? This is customary for a person planning a run for President. Better this, than to remain in office while campaigning, shirking the responsibilities of the existing job while getting paid to do it [[pssst all of the other candidates for the 2008 election did this).

Until now, and she was a VP [[arguably as was Biden) selected late in the campaign cycle, not a Presidential hopeful only 1 year into her term in the office she held [[Obama).

Ok. Her team just came out with another press release explaining how it was all a mistake. Last week while hunting elk on her snowmobile, her advisors told her she needed to give a speech that showed she was ready for the White House and over the noise of the guns and sleds she misheard it as she needed to give a speech that showed she was ready for the nut house.

If you look at the polls, you can see what effect that Palin had on McCain's performance. After McCain picked Palin at the beginning of September, after his "convention bounce" was over, his poll numbers steadily fell for the last two months of the election and Obama's poll number steadily rose for the last two months of the election.

Obama and McCain were polling fairly close prior to the selection of Palin as VP candidate. After that, there was never any doubt who would win. A strong case could be made that McCain lost in large part because of Sarah Palin. Yeah, she's popular among the GOP base. Amongst everyone else, she's a major turn-off. I think Palin helped the GOP lose that election. I also think that if she were to run in 2012, it would be the 1996 Clinton-Dole election slaughter all over again. She's pull in about 45% of that national vote [[the conservatives) and that's it. It would be another electoral college blowout for Barack Obama.

I wouldn't give Saracuda so much credit for bringing down the campaign.

McCain was out of the running before he was in it.

Nestling in George Tush's armpit on national TV, lapping up the Rethuglican talking points, and proving he would do anything, say anything to win, sealed his fate.

After 8 years of death and destruction under the Tush regime, and much later, his comments on the "fundamentals of the economy" being sound, were a double whammy.

Add his forced acceptance of Palin as his running mate, and you could see McCain was simply going through the motions. Even he knew it was over.

He kept having to correct, or clean up Palin's comments, such as when she wouldn't tamp down the anarchist rhetoric at her campaign rallies, which called for Obama's assassination amongst other racist hate speech.

McCain himself took a hit from the right wing blowback when he corrected the the antique cotton-top who called Obama a "muslim".

He couldn't even tell the truth and get cred from his own party. It was really a study in tight rope walking by a 72 year old man performing without a net. There was only the hard clay floor to look forward to.
