Thanks for that. Now I think I understand what the "tubing" machine is.
Gannon's gonna love this! LOL!
Yes and no...it looks fascinating, but robotics usually eliminate one of the best random options of the coffeehouse experience...the people! The baristas and coffeehounds who populate the staff of any local coffeeshop are always the true draw...the coffee really has to be spectacular to trump them.
But this does up the competition level in town again.
Going to have to make a new scorecard to keep track of all the new craft beers, medicinal cannabis strains, and now local coffee roasts! So many things to keep track of...I may need a robot.
Cheers!

The Roasting Plant once had a sign posted on the door that had said "Opening January 24". Now the sign say opening soon. I think that the Roasting Plant will be a positive fixture in Campus Martius. I hope that they keep long hours and not close at 6pm Mon thru Fri. It will encourage more shops and stores to move into the area. Next summer will great time to hang out downtown. I would rather see an influx of cafes than an influx of liquor storesYes and no...it looks fascinating, but robotics usually eliminate one of the best random options of the coffeehouse experience...the people! You beat me to it ! I was thinking the same thing ! I think this is a great new sign for the city with a "healthier" direction .The Roasting Plant once had a sign posted on the door that had said "Opening January 24". Now the sign say opening soon. I go by that area often and have been watching the progress over the weeks.
I think this is a great fit for Downtown , something unique to Downtown.
Now if we can just get a few more unique , to downtown places ,[[cheesecake factory , house of blues ,type places) That would speak volumes to the entire area .
Even though I've been to both places and they have them through out the nation , this would be big to the region and Detroit is the center of the region .
After my visit to Chicago last weekend , tourist look for these type of places.
With all the new and coming construction and projects, the next 5 years will be
pretty impressive.
Detroit's downtown will start to look more like a real downtown .
I stopped in there on Wednesday afternoon with a friend. I must have been there during the soft opening.Yes and no...it looks fascinating, but robotics usually eliminate one of the best random options of the coffeehouse experience...the people! The 'robotics' actually had the opposite effect. I actually spent some time talking to the barista. She explained the process mechanical process for sucking up the beans, the grinders/brewer, and explained how each cup comes with a sticker to remind you what you ordered.
I got a nice Guatemalan coffee, my coworker a Colombian blend. Both of us said it would be a great place to take the spouse/family the next time they are downtown.
