I don't understand why people are on this forum if they have nothing positive to say about Detroit
The name of the forum is Detroit Yes NOT ....Blow Detroit.

Yes there are problems here in this city . Bitch and complain about them and maybe they will get fixed.
Yes the taxes are high here.
Yes we dont get the city services that we pay for .
Yes we pay higher insurance rates than the suburbs.
Yes our High school drop out rate is over 60%.
Yes the murder rate[[per capita) is annually in the top 5 in the nation.

Maybe by pretending that there is nothing wrong here, we all can put on our happy face.

Just wondering if I need to visit my opthamologist or not.

Its sad when someone is so negative as to be facetious and almost everyone takes him seriously at face value -what does that say about Detroit?

Facetious or not there are several places more dangerous than Detroit. Somalia - parts of Nigeria and the Ivory Coast.

I'm fairly familiar with the "neighborhood" in St. Louis that it listed. First of all, that's not a whole neighborhood, it's part of Downtown West. Secondly, I don't see how that area is more dangerous than the urban prairies of North St. Louis. After NHL Games people are milling around that area. Union Station is around that area. There's some residential in the northern part of that neighborhood, and the very northern part of that area is in some sketchy parts, but I question their data overall. And the area they highlighted wasn't a neighborhood itself. Neighborhoods are defined by the city or grow up on their own. Walletpop can't just pick a random group of streets and call it a neighborhood.

This list doesn't make sense to me.
I think you answered your own question. But I would like to address a couple things:

    1. This does not say any city is safer or more dangerous than another since it only lists neighborhoods. To coorelate this to relative safety of entire cities is silly.

    2. To Leanna's point: The point of this is flawed as it takes very small areas and only consider the population. Areas with little population but a lot of activity may be unfairly represented due to the low populations.

Not a whole lot, unless you think people who post on here are representative of Detroit's population as a whole. Even if they were, the only inference that could legitimately be drawn is that Detroiters aren't very good at recognizing sarcasm.
