I’m surprised 918 Virginia Park is still languishing. I thought I read some time ago that something was going to be done with it.

The top photo here is of a different building. That's the Roxy Bar, which was on the west side of Woodward between Charlotte and Peterboro. That building is still standing. The Roxy Theater was a couple of blocks south, between Sproat and Temple, where the WSU Ilitch business school is now.

Love that Nash Rambler [[1953?) in the foreground. When my parents went to Wayne [[pre-State), it was largely made up of Old Main [[aka old Central High) and lots of houses like this one along Cass and Second.

Second that! I've always had a very casual interest in architecture. I've loved the art deco buildings in Detroit and other cities since I was a kid. Also used to enjoy watching America's Castles and similar shows on A&E. I appreciate the knowledge of p69rrh51, Gistok and other posters on this forum.

Hey, does anyone know exactly what year Roosevelt Elementary on the Central complex was demolished? I did some searches back through the site archives and see someone said they were on the school board from 91-92 when it was demolished, but does anyone know which year? It's hard to find photos of it for some reason.
