Howdy Everyone!

I've alluded to Hamtown Farms in past posts- But we'd like to make an official thread about the project.

Hamtown Farms is a project that is in the process of reclaiming and revitalizing 9 long vacant city lots in Hamtramck.

When complete, Hamtown Farms will play host to more than 200 fruit trees as well as raised beds for community members to grow their own produce.

We can use your help and your vote! Edy's Fruit bars is donating 17 orchards across the country. Though Hamtown Farms is proceeding full steam ahead, winning this contest will get us off to an even stronger start. Visit http://www.communitiestakeroot.com to vote.

Plus, June 9th will be our big ol' ground breaking/ceremonial tree planting/community activation/media day. Hope you can join us.
