Yes, the Euro version of the Volt won 'Car of the Year' at Geneva: http://www.salon-auto.ch/en/news/the...r-2012-0-26683
Last September I was in Vienna and while walking around saw a new Cadillac CTS parked, I told the friends I was visiting in Austria about it. I read last year that GM was planning to sell smaller Cadillac models in Europe. They are definitely going to be a novelty there.
In the world of Le Mans prototypes, both Toyota and Audi have introduced their new hybrid racers. Neither uses battery storage and Toyota has chosen to go with a petrol engine and 'super capacitor' electric storage while Audi is going with a diesel engine and a Williams developed flywheel system. Both the capacitor and flywheel system are kinetic energy recovery systems [[KERS) that convert braking energy into electricity. These cars represent the latest thinking in hybrid technology. Audi wants to become the #1 supplier of electric vehicles in the US by 2015.
Both will be running this year in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
