Haven't been by the Chase building lately and was wondering if any visible progress is being made on this supposed new pedestrian friendly retail section along woodward? Anyone have any info/updates? Pictures would be great!

No work has yet been done on the exterior.
From what I could see there's a lot of bright colors and people on the upper floors, but nothing has been done in the lobby area which still has a Chase Bank in it.
Where 2,000 workers pass through checkpoint Charlie, getting on those smart elevators, getting into those cubicles and work as drones from the corporate machine.
Those people are going to work, earning a good living and paying taxes.
Why the hell should it matter if they work for the "corporate machine" as you so ineloquently call it? What exactly do you do for a living? Do you pay any taxes? The ridiculously disjointed anti-corporate rant is getting quite old.
Additionally, those people spend money and support the downotwn economy with their parking fees, lunch tabs and money spent after work. Isn't that what everyone on Detroit yes wants? Would you be happier if they were working out in Southfield, Farmington or Troy?
It is the "corporate machine" and the employees thereof that keeps downtowns viable. Little mom and pop businesses and the ubiquitous liquor stores, beauty supply and wig shops like you find throughout Detroit do not a big vibrant downtown make.
