I think we can all agree that communication with our neighbors helps keep a neighborhood strong and safe. Hubbard Farms has had an incredibly active email list-serve since 2006. A year ago we implemented a group text [[www.groupme.com) to deal with what we call "actionable emergencies". This text system has stopped crimes in progress, lead to ID'ing perps and has brought a sense of empowerment to our neighborhood. We even have a patrolman from the SW district on the text alert system. We have about 230 people on the list-serve, 50 people on the text alert.

I would be curious to know how other communities address communication.

Happy to discuss what we've done in Hubbard Farms if there's interest.
