Here is a map of St. Clair Heights from 1904. It was roughly today's Montclair, French Rd. [["Park" on this map), and Harding [["Hamilton") north from Mack across Shoemaker to Harper [["Butler" here). Also on this same page is a map of "Grossepoint" as it existed then.

Woodmere apparently grew up in part to service the traffic to the Woodmere Cemetery, back in an era when cemeteries were not only places to lay the deceased to rest, but also considered destinations for a day out.

Interestingly, one of the inns that was part of the village is still standing, albeit abandoned, out on Fort St. a block from the cemetery. Here is a document recommending the historical designation of this building and giving its history [[explaining along the way the references to the "Shipyard Tract" visible on the map linked above). I have no idea whether or not this building was ever actually historically designated as recommended here.
