JC Penney's have made a great decision for bring their outlet back to Downtown Seattle. The yuppied downtown is loaded with mini-New-Yorkesque buildings. I have been down with my father and the predestrian life is filling up people from all ethnicities.

Having a JC Penney in Downtown Detroit will more difficult. Downtown Detroit needs more regionalization, exotic retail, entertainment venues and sweep out poltical and street crime.

In order to have a flagship anchor department store in Downtown Detroit, it need some urban things:

    1. lots of restaurants and bar and grills

    2. simple five and dime retail like dollar store and variety shops

    3. exotic retail next to these restuarants

    4. then comes the flagship department stores

    WORD FROM THE STREET PROPHET

Because Downtown Detroit can't survive with regionalization for Neda's sake.

This is good news...Hard Rock is doing really well this year...sales are way up and they got some award from headquarters. Like or dislike the Hard Rock, that certainly is the type of news that potential developers must love...

Retailers may be use smaller store that go in urban area but Detroit is long way off from being able to support it.
