Has anyone watched that video linked above? Note how hostile the interviewer was, how the author vainly tried to steer the conversation to the " hopelessness" of Detroit , left leaderless without him. She notes that he "had his chance and wrecked it."
I think this charade, now that he won't get the book sales, is to set the table for a hung jury next year.
That is all it's about. He is literally just spewing shit now with even less regard for even a shred of truth than ever. Say it enough, someone will buy it. It works in politics, it can work in criminal defense.

LOL! I did tear away from the 'puter for a bit and go enjoy a cool breeze out on the porch. So nice and quiet that early in the am....

Personally I'm kind of "Over" the guy. He will soon be gone as will Bernard et al. Any hatred I had for the guy has been muted by the comforting belief that the Feds will soon make him vanish.

Hah! He does seem to get a bit 'testy' when the interviewers outside of the D don't fawn and coddle him... Too much....

I think you have Mildred Gaddis confused with someone else. Mildred Gaddis was his biggest critic even before he was elected the first time. Criticized him to the very end. Even moved out of the city supposedly because she felt threatened. She received a funeral bouquet after he was elected the second time. It was assumed it came from his camp. Maybe you are thinking of Frankie Darcell.

No, I mean the "Mildred Gaddis people" - the people who get their information from the Black radio and believe despite provable facts otherwise. They might listen to Mildred Gaddis or Frankie Darcell or Karen Dumas or Bev Smith. They show up at lots of things and they are pretty much committed to a philosophy that the main-stream media is lying about and unfair to the Author.

Their opposite numbers are the Rush Limbaugh people

As a matter of fact Mildred once went on a long rant on her show calling Kwame a sociopath , went into a long discussion to explain the meaning of the word and gave examples to her listerners.

    I don't think she's his biggest fan ! LOL

Mildred Gaddis and her callers dump on Kwame constantly and consistently.

Oh God! That expression is just an expression used around town about talk radio audiences - NOT necessarily MG's audience. I surmise that the Author will pitch to that audience primarily because - look! his mainstream media interview was so hostile toward him and inasmuch said that he doesn't need to be talking about hopeless, leaderless Detroit anymore because he had his chance and he screwed up.
Did you watch it? Our Author wasn't very happy with MSNBC:

OK. so you give Archor all of the credit for getting the superbowl here. eventhough the only reason the SuperBowl actually came here was because of the New Ford Field. then you say F KK it was all penske that made it a success??? You people are really something. The funny part is Penske still supports KK to this day, and you/the rest of yall still hatin. You didnt find it funny that the only "business Community leaders" to speak out against KK was Dave Bing [[who got millions from the city while KK was in office) and Early from DTE???

Then just call them "people who listen to certain Black radio hosts."

Black people don't all think alike, you know. Not even Black radio hosts!

Forget it. Sorry I brought this topic up. People just keep losing the way.

Look, there's nothing wrong with bringing the topic up. Just understand that there are a lot of black people in Detroit -- including prominent ones -- who don't really care for KMK. I mean, he didn't get 100% of the vote in 2005... and many of those whom he got were low information voters.

That's right. I am running into more and more people who are not or no longer KK supporters. And not all would vote for him. I did not the second time around.

Hey look, 313hero is back promoting Mr. Kilpatrick's alternate reality.

Wouldn't want the readers here to miss the insightful Q and A in the New York Times yesterday:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/21/ma...t-chapter.html

Regarding his perjury--lying on the stand when asked a question he may have thought was shrewd or he even may have proposed, by a COD attorney--Mr. Kilpatrick states that is was "the only illegal thing that I've done in my life".
I know, I know, allegations and indictments are just charges until a jury holds them to be true. Nonetheless, a pretty remarkable statement .
I think there is a reasonable chance that KMK, Bobby Ferguson and Bernard seek as many delays to the trial or trials as possible, flee the U.S.A, by private plane, to a country without an extradition treaty, and declare themselves to be political exiles.

Well, he himself states in his book that he smoked pot and scammed bridge card benefits, so there are a few more illegal acts that have taken place. What a fucking idiot!

it's fair to say that hizzoner cut a lot of ribbons -- and that the credit for most of those projects are due to others [[predecessors, business leaders, etc.).
i'd like to see a list of ribbons that cockrel/bing have been able to cut, based on groundwork hizzoner laid. if anyone has nominations for the list, please contact me at mlelrick@freepress.com or post on my facebook page.
I suspect an examination of detroit's development will show that more houses were built and more jobs created during the heyday of the auto industry. there were significant jumps in housing starts in detroit in the early 2000s, but seeds don't turn into blooms overnight.
while there were quite a few cranes in the air in the late 90s and early 2000s, a quick survey of downtown suggests that most of the significant buildings were built in the first quarter of the 20th century -- and that's even without including the demolished Hudson's building.
ironically, archer and hizzoner -- both critics of casinos -- can take credit for their development. archer opened the temporaries, hizzoner cut the deals for permanent casinos [[in part because he allowed them to open much smaller facilities than they had initially agreed to -- and only after city council forced him to renegotiate an agreement that he later conceded was deficient).
i can think of at least two, and probably three, recreation centers that opened/re-opened during hizzoner's first term. the planning and funding for all of those projects date back to the archer years. i cannot recall any truly new recreation centers.
by contrast, a number of recreation centers closed under hizzoner. cannon, kronk and, i believe, brewer come immediately to mind.
i have not read the entire book, but i suspect there is no mention of his failure to hit his own demolition targets -- or his failure to close the deal with robert thompson for an extra $10 million to increase the number of buildings detroit could demolish [[both well documented in the free press).
