Where part does personal responsibility play in these incidents? When I was in the 8th grade, one of my friends offered me a job selling coke with him paying $280 a week. I thought about it for a day and said NO. He ended up getting shot and killed the next year.
Barbara, about 2 weeks ago 2 kids were killed in a dopehouse, one of them 16 yrs old. Shot and robbed. I took you to within about 30 meters of that spot where they were killed. Remember Crazy Anne on McDougall in front of the church at Frederick? It was right there. I wonder if these killings were some sort of play for the drug busts that have been happening.
It looked like a straight up drug robbery but killing two people [[both shot in the face) is a little harsh for under $1000 worth of dope and cash.
I prefer your violence to ours, your folks are pissed for a reason of some sort as far as I can see and may make a diff, but really two totally different animals as far as reasons.
Whew. Smart move.
Every time you share that story you might just save a life.
How do we stop the killing?
How do we stop alcoholic?
How do we stop drug addict?
How do we change someone's behavior?
We don't, history and human nature have proven that with out doubt.
Absolute hopelessness, the illiteracy rate in Detroit is 47% Unemployment 20.5 Crime is a way of life Death or Prison are the only options when get rich banging or die trying is the only game left in town.
People tend to place blame anywhere but the reflection in the mirror, nobody conspired to ruin Detroit we did it ourselves every second of every day the casual cognitive distance we all wear like a coat to protect us from the evil that is your brother.
Hope from something other than prison or death is all we need, illiteracy is killing us a culture, one does not need the man to hold you down when we willingly do it to ourselves.
Like most things, the solution is simple but finding the will to realize that solution is hard. We need jobs with lower barriers to entry and more cops/better policing. That is where it all starts. Will America get over it's socialism fear enough to solve it's crime problem? I doubt it, we'd rather keep failing doing the same things. How do we stop the killing?

So right. We've moved away from real socialism here in the UK in the last few years and look what's happened to us. To at least aim at equality has to be a good thing. We also have public health - still - just. You need that so badly in the States. If people have only the fact that if they get sick they will be treated to rely on, it does make a difference. I would be dead if it wasn't for our National Health Service and so would millions of my countrymen.Like most things, the solution is simple but finding the will to realize that solution is hard. Nice work by Detroit Police in solving 4 of the 6 killings.

I saw that yesterday, too. I was expecting to see a thread on it. I think it's human nature to complain, and to not give credit where credit is due.Nice work by Detroit Police in solving 4 of the 6 killings.
