I was sorry to read of Terry’s passing. In the mid 50s to about the early 60s my Dad and Mom would take my sister and me to the Hudson’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in the two family cars. After the parade, we’d then load up Mom’s with the ladders, blankets, hot chocolate and the rest so she could drive my sister home. Guys bonding and leaving women with the clean up work. A time honored tradition of days gone by. It sure doesn't work like that in my house...and that is as it should be.

Dad and I would go to the Lions/Green Bay game. It has all become a blur over time but some of the names come flooding back and I smile. In addition to Terry Barr and Yale Larry were players like Howard “Hopalong” Cassaday, Bobby Layne [[Number 22), Gail Cogdill, Alex Karass, Dick “Night Train” Lane, Jim Gibbons, Dick LeBeau, Tobin Rote, Leon Hart, and Dorne Dibble.

The game was never the same after Green Bay was no longer the scheduled opponent.
