Hey, that suggests a different game where every post would be completely unrelated to its predecessor. We could call it "Word Dissociation" ...

Am I wrong in thinking that word association means that you more or less put down the first thing that pops into your mind when you see a word or phrase? If not, I've been playing this wrong for all of my life.

You're definitely correct.

This reminds me of a linguistic experiment done way back when computers first became widely accessible. They'd have the computer look for chains of synonyms of synonyms of synonyms until the last word in the chain was an antonym of the first. Then they'd find the shortest of these chains and, counterintuitively, there were a lot of very short chains! I think there were a few cases where they found words that could be their own antonyms.

Okay, enough of that.
