Not the schools - but the parents are pretty braggy. It's hard to talk with parents of kids in GP schools. If they aren't talking about how wonderful the school is, they are talking about the square feet of somone's house.

The typical GP home isn't particularly large nor ostentatious. The Pointes have an older housing stock, and relatively few bigfoot McMansions. The waterfront mansions are a tiny proportion of the GP housing stock.

And what parent doesn't brag about their children and their school performance? Sounds like typical parents.

I don't understand why SWMAP is letting all this jealousy pour forth from the keyboard. It has veered well into the pathological in its blind irrationality. All manner of aspersions are being cast on an entire group of communities for what?

For sending naughty emails?

Jesus pal, according to reports the police and the prosecutor found nothing illegal. Not pedo porn, nothing targeting his students, nothing but something that violates the GP code of conduct. For someone with an obvious rabid dislike for a community, and all it stands for, it would logically follow that you'd sing the praises of a man who dared to go against all you hate.

But that is not happening. Why? Do you really hate people looking at boobs that much? Is it the furry parts that enrage you so? What are your motivations to relentlessly attack someone you don't even know and then roll a whole mess of others up into that clutch of loathing.

What is it about adults 'doing it' that has your thong all sideways?

I get why they got the axe if that was some really 'out there' porn, or there had a truckload of personal emails back and forth, or they had been warned before. Seems like firing..er um resigning...for some "inappropriate emails" is a bit excessive. As with all these things, it would be nice to know the real story.

Wow gnome- I think GP is pretty smug and that's all. It's s little funny to me that their mighty school system has a little bit of sand in the works . I can't imagine that I was pouring out torrents if jealousy in two little posts. Are you by any chance a Grosse Pointer or maybe are you protective of risqué stuff on your work computer. Attacks like this recent one with twisted thong imagery, furry parts, etc. , that are so unwarranted come from somewhere.

Everyone should be very suspicious of this accusation. Since schools have adopted these 'zero-tolerance' policies, they make some pretty incredible leaps. Students have been suspended for very minor infractions [[toy guns being taken to do a demonstration on gun safety violating no guns policy and the like).

I can't know if this man is guilty or innocent, but I wouldn't rule out over-reaction here.

Say he opened one email from a not-so-close friend. It had pictures of 'boobs' all over it. [[Actually happened to me yesterday -- not at work.) The email program saves a copy. Voila. You've now 'downloaded' porn.

OK, so maybe he's a perv. But leave some room for the possibility of over-reaction.

To begin, the principal was not "involved in dumping a coach for the very same thing"--by saying that, you're basically saying that everyone who looks at porn is a hardcore pedophile, and that certainly isn't the case.
While I do find it strange that both principal and VP resigned so quickly, I'll also say that it's a strange coincidence that both would make such a dumb choice as to use work computers for porn, and that it's very easy to open a misleading email and, BLAMMO, you've downloaded porn.
As far as Grosse Pointers being "braggy" about the square feet of someone's house--that's a gross generalization that has nothing to do with this story. As far as Grosse Pointers being "braggy" about how wonderful the schools are--they're right, and I'd venture to say anyone with children in the GP schools are proud of the education their kids are receiving.

Just to close the loop on this... as it now seems two men have had their careers ruined by salacious gossip. From todays detnews:

Sheriff officials since have determined the images in question were not criminal. Rosati said the police investigation is closed.
"The images were truly of a joking nature and not child pornographic nature," Rosati said.

The IT guy was probably required to do what he did by policy. That's what you get when you institute zero-tolerance policies. You get zero-discretion as well.

Second part absurd. Every use of a computer must be STRICTLY IN COMPLIANCE with policy and guidelines...! So if he checks the weather, to see if his personal softball game is cancelled, or maybe he pays one bill that must be paid on-line before end of day. Whack. Another one falls?
