Looks like the block is topped out! Pretty big milestone for a project that was just "pushing dirt around" https://www.instagram.com/p/CcGR14PLLom/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Checked out the Hudson's Site website today as it was down a couple days ago and noticed some new interesting details. First thing was that it states a height of 685' 4" ... which seems pretty exact....
Found something interesting on Detroit's open data portal looking at building permits. Unfortunately there isn't exactly tons of detail, but it looks like the building permit for the tower portion...
41523 I really enjoy the view of the site from the top of the Z
For those wondering if there is construction Above street level, the elevator cores are definitely there now! 41114
Wasn't the Fisher Building [[1928) built with a parking garage? I seem to remember the tour guide making mention of one when I toured that beauty a while back.
I would be interested to know if the timeline has been pushed back at all. I noticed in that brownfield application that they were targeting a Summer 2020 start of construction with finishing it up...
Looks like a crane is up and the tower footings are really starting to take shape over on the Canadian side.https://www.gordiehoweinternationalbridge.com/en/gallery

Nice! I'll definitely be checking out the YouTube video tonight
Thanks for counting! I watched it through once and then thought "man I really should have counted those trucks"

Well this is sad. Very curious to see what the final height actually...
Agreed. At one point I was going to try and count all the caissons installed, just to see what number they are at, but either way they most likely will be finishing up in the nearish future....
I have wondered that as well, I keep waiting for something they say to actually happen... But it keeps getting delayed or something
Nice! That concrete should cure nicely with this was weather we are having
Has anyone had a chance to get a closer view of what I assume is the tower crane foundations [[the big square hole in the middle)? I can't quite tell by the videos, but it looks like they are maybe...
Nice find! Has anyone heard when demolition of the existing building is supposed to start?
I'll agree with you on the crane height, but what about the permits for the building itself? It seems odd that one would request an obstruction evaluation for something different than the actual...
Soooo, I would like to think that the gentleman in the YouTube video actually got his source right here on Detroit Yes! Thanks for posting all of the links in one place - I was a little too lazy haha...
Thanks, my wife just calls me obsessed lol.
Nice pictures! Thanks for sharing
So I mapped the GPS Coordinates for each of the permits with google maps and came up with this - it seems as though the center of the block or podium portion of this project will step up from 193 to...
Total height = height above sea level, structure height = height above ground
So this permit is for the "block" portion of Hudson's which is 225 tall. There are separate permits for the cranes -...
From what I could tell, the tallest part of the block is 225 ft and the cranes are approximately 450 ft tall. No permits for the tower portion yet that I saw
