I did not see the way in which she announced it so not sure if you’re commenting on that aspect, but considering the city’s history and demographics it is newsworthy that this is led by Black...
The Free Press article states the remaining vacant units are in the process of being sold to the same developers, and they will begin work once the current units are complete. So fortunately it will...
I don't remember the businesses that closed due to the failed casino plan. I do recall going to a couple of restaurants that seem to still be in place in one form or another today. Would someone...
I agree with the Eater Detroit site recommendation. It does a really good job of covering all the restaurant openings and news.
I also agree that Midtown is probably the most popular spot. ...
Bigdd, where are you getting the 65% illiteracy rate from?
I've seen 47% functionally illiterate which seems ridiculously high and unfortunate. Do you really need to add 20 pts to get your point...
I find this very exciting news! Looks like there are zoning issues that need to be resolved, but it speaks volumes on how development can potentially spread in Detroit's small walkable,...
I didn't realize Joie de Vivre hotels were so well done either. Very nice. Brush Park does seem a little bit of an odd location, but I'm not sure they are focused on the business crowd based on...

Also, Detroit Institute of Bagels has moved pretty far along on the construction of their Michigan Avenue shop. They have more recent pictures on their facebook page.

Detroitdave,
The tapas place you're thinking about on Cass is La Feria. They have some pictures of the progress of the restaurant up on their facebook page. Glad to hear the restaurants in the...
