An article in Crain's today about the 500 Tower of RenCen was sold... I assume to Blue Cross, but I could not get past the Paywall.

The Tuller had the same issues as the Fine Arts Building... namely it was wood trusses [or as we like to say for the underwhelming apartments currently on the Statler site... "stick built"].

Maybe this will answer some of your questions... 500 Tower has a long term lease with Blue Cross... but the 600 Tower is the one with problems.

With the opening of the Huntington Bank Tower on Woodward, this is the only parcel of land available on that block... and unlike the Huntington Tower, the Fine Arts parcel fronts Grand Circus Park.

Yes... my exact thoughts!! The Detroit Opera House conversion of the former Capitol Theatre cost $42 million back in 1991-98... and that was a much larger venue. They replaced 90% of the ornate...
