metal steps to the nether regions?
I'm out of the loop today - being a non-slacker - and we're talking metal steps to the netherworld? I know sometimes it feels like we've been to hell and back, but I don't know of any steps down there! The Bells were definitely Belgian, so so those are out, what about the metal trap door that leads "who knows where" behind the Parish Center?

You got it.!!! It does say NEENAH FOUDRY CO. on the outer edge.
Question: Weren't those metal trap doors a replacements for another type of door for what was then known as the "bomb shelter"?
KR - we're gonna need someone who remembers the other type of doors and what they were used for. I could ask a senior parishioner after Mass on Saturday and see if she remembers.
It was probably the vault where the nuns hid their extra habits and wimples so we wouldn't find them
I'm with you, JC - a secret storage locker for something nunish!
Page 2 - I don't think so! I'm just about 1/2 way through the anniversary book, and am up to 50 pages. Thanks for the pictures, Laing, I used some and send them all back to you yesterday. Pls. let me know when you receive them safely back! From the responses rec'd so far, it will be a great turnout for the Anniversary Mass and dinner.
I'm going to do my best to be there; we're going to CO around Oct 15th, but I am pushing for a return in time for the 29th. I don't remember if I RSVP'd on the SJ site or not
As soon as the tickets are available, I'll let everyone know. I'd like to get enough for a couple of 1970 grad tables so we can all sit together.
That would be fun. Better start my weight loss/beauty routine now. With all the work I need to do I should have started it in 1999
