Default Brightmoor Pictures, Brightmoor Youth Group, Urban Farming

So I was cruising around Brightmoor the other day looking at all the sights and I came across scattered plots of urban farming. Well, scratch the "urban" because Brightmoor is pretty rural, but nevertheless I was happy to see people working outside, teaching kids how to grow vegetables and make money.

Here is a link to some of my photos

You can find the group on facebook if you search for "Brightmoor Youth Group" and they have pictures of some of the work they are doing.

Last year I saw a group of teens working on an urban farm in Brightmoor- on Lamphere, North of 5 Mile. Vacant lots next to the former St. Christine convent. For several years the convent was occupied by Francescan monks helping to run the Soup Kitchen, maybe a small scale version of the Capuchin's urban farms on the East side?

Google street view captured someone working in the garden:

Edit- the link did not show a street view, only the map to soup kitchen.
Google map 15300 block of Lamphere, and street view can find it, though.
