Just curious. Is the parking pad on Belle Isle that was built for the race still in existance? If so, what other uses has it had when not providing space for the race?

I know the police department uses it for evasive driving training. I believe they have also rented it out to racing clubs in the past.

The Michigan Sports Car Club does indeed rent the pad for a number of events over the summmer and early fall months. It is alot of fun to take your car and run it on their course. I think it is 35.00 dollars for non-members.
I only did it once last year and it was a good time , alot of the spectators and participants were talking about where to in the area for dinner when they were done.
