Drastic cuts in bus service will take place on 23-April

The DDOT has not announced this, but service on at least 4 bus routes are going to be drastically cut. The Clairmount Line which ended at midnight will now end at 10:00 pm. The Puritan Line which ended at 10:00 pm will end at 7:30 pm. Other lines that will see cuts include Schaefer and Russell

I heard this from the president of the Bus Driver's union [[Amalgamated Transit Union Local 22) on Angelo Henderson's radio talk show on 1200 am, WCHB, just now. DDOT has not announced this to the public yet.

Those D-DOT bus cuts are proposed due the rising fuel costs, [[ not just from the fare box and regional cards) and lost of extra federal funds [[ VIA U.S. Census figures). What the people living the city is will equal the amount of monies being transfered to Detroit city government. Detroiters and fewer suburbanites will be outraged if more bus cuts loomed. Folks need to get home to their family and friends during quite storm nights.
