Breaking!! Six dead in shooting in the Netherlands.

The Netherlands now also has it's share of freak shootings. A man armed with an automatic gun shot 5 people and wounded another 13 before shooting himself.

At least six people have been killed and several others wounded when a gunman opened fire in the Netherlands town of Alphen aan den Rijn, Dutch media say.
Another 16 people were wounded in the shootings at a shopping centre in the town, 21km [[13 miles) south-west of Amsterdam.
It is not clear what prompted the shooting.
One witness said the attacker had a machine gun. A local government statement said he was also dead.
"The mall has been cleared and a wide area around it is cordoned off," the statement said.

I know the place and did some shopping in the past.....

This is totally uncharacteristic over here. Nothing of this scope has ever occurred here.

What we know now.
6 dead, five victims plus the shooter.
16 wounded, of which four lifethreatening.

The culprit was a blond man of around 25 years of age wearing a bomberjacket and camouflage pants. He lived locally and acted alone. He had an automatic gun which he used for minutes. He reloaded multiple times. The shooting started outside the C1000 supermarket and concluded in another Albert Heijn supermarket where the shooter shot himself with another weapon. The police were already on the scene while the shooting was still going.

Among the victims there are children.

One of the four most severely injured victims died. The death toll is now seven.

The name of the shooter is known now. It was a born and bred Dutchman, so this assault has no Inslamic terror stamp on it. He was known to the police, was a member of a shooting club and had a licence to have five weapons, the assault rifle not being one of them. Automatic weapons are illegal over here for everyone, apart from police and militairy forces. He had no militairy background.

His mother found a farewell letter.The motive is not known yet. In a letter found in his car there is word that he stashed explosives in three other shopping centers in town.
