...bizarre.. why leave a federal pen with a modicum of freedoms and/or safety while he's in the clink.. going to a state prison where, well, you can end up bunking with a murderer, dealing with prison gangs, and so forth.. as a former mayor, he was a figurehead of law enforcement, isn't he vulnerable for inmates with a grudge or those who just want to increase their rep... bad choice..

If I heard it correctly on the news, the move is kind of a technicality. He'll be eligible for parole from state prison in July, but he can't be paroled from state prison if he isn't in state prison first, so the move is to set himself up for possible parole.

because he can apply for parole something like 8-10 months EARLIER than if hes in the fed pokey...

hes hoping this will be the next step to his "[[you all set me up for a) comeback"

Are you serious? Number one: The guy probably has a posse a mile long in there. Two: He's quite
a personality, probably their hero. Three: The man has been 'sent up' as a criminal. He was never
truly seen as the head of any law enforcement agency. He was just the Mayor....and a constant
controversy from the very beginning, with the 'Topless Bar' jaunts to D.C..The Manoogian situation,
The S.U.V. scandal, Christine Beatty, The hired Financial Manager he also...befriended, at the
taxpayers expense...Hell it was ALL at the taxpayers expense!!!! You don't think all that gives him
street cred., makes him a superhero. Think again. I tell you once again. If it was legal to do so,
the man could run for office tomorrow, and WIN!!!!

He's at Cotton Prison in Jackson. There is no more Jackson State Prison [[the worst of the worst in MI).

Kwame has a lot of things going on in his life and to worry about. However violence from fellow prisoners isn't one of them. First of all most of them probably admires him. and he has a way of connecting with people that makes them feel like long lost friends. If he was a minister instead he would have made 10x the amount of money than as a politican and probably stayed out of jail.

But finally if none of that worked an inmate would really need to think twice before attacking a 6-4 300 lbs former college football player.

This guy is sitting right in the middle of his peer group. He's one of them and they are him and he's right where he belongs. If he gets out of here in July its going to be a short hiatus because he IS going to get a long federal sentence. Sociopathec meglomaniac.
