    Default Question about Hamtramck housing.

On Casmere Street just west of Joseph Campau there are houses with very long and thin front yards. There's an alley right behind these houses.

The strange thing is that 4 or 5 houses have houses/apartment buildings right in front of them. Anyone know the history of this set up?

Could be the border between two developers I've seen similar things in the West Village on Shiperd St. where the houses to the West have their backyards on Shiperd [[basically making it and alley). And where houses on the East have their frontyards facing Shiperd.

The only weird thing I've never seen homes set back like that only to have a huge 2-family in front of it. It's like totally land locked.
