The nonprofit Detroit Shoppe was such a hit as a seasonal store over the holidays that it reopened this week at the Somerset Collection North in Troy.

Its lease has been extended through Christmas Eve, and it has returned to the upscale mall with new fixtures and products, such as one-of-a-kind motorcycles made by Eric Gorges, owner of Voodoo Choppers in Clinton Township.

Detroit merchandise is in high demand. And other metro Detroit stores, including Pure Detroit and Incognito, are catering to Motor City fans eager to give the area a much-needed boost.
