Default Magazine names Detroit angriest city in America

THIS REALLY PISSES ME OFF! LOL

    Link

To come up with the rankings, analysts compared aggravated assaults per capita, time spent in traffic during rush hour, the number of people with high blood pressure and the number of anger management specialists per capita for each of the cities. Detroit ranked 100th.

It appears that everyone and thing from Glen Beck to magazine articles are "Hating" on Detroit every since the Chrysler commercial aired a month ago. The "Hate" had been prevelant prior to the commercial but had escalated after it. Detroit has the potential to be a much greater city to live, shop, and play than New York, Chicago, and probably Los Angeles. A city that could be an international small town city with a big metropolitan city punch. Of course magaines and persons from other cities are goin to say something negative about the sleeping giant before he wake up.

    Lets get real here.

We are at the mercy of lazy journalists [[I use that term loosely) with a deadline to meet and possibly an agenda to push [[in the case of Beck) where an negative article about Detroit is a no-lose situation for them.

Take a mostly black, democratic, union town with a dysfunctional school district, too much crime etc etc That feeds into people seeing the reality but not understanding why that reality exist.

A negative Detroit article is a low-risk to no-risk article for that writer.

Its really a shame when people write these articles based on perceptions, since to them that is there reality.

This guy has never been to Boston...can't say anything nice about my experiences there. Rude people, bad drivers, inconsiderate shop keeps, and just overall mean place, no one wants to help their fellow man. Experienced a lot of screaming and cursing during my time spent in boston, where in Detroit even the homeless people [[on the westside and downtown anyway) are pleasant. Cops and FD are very nice, parking garage attendants are always smiling, people on the street usually will return a nod. Knock on wood, I can't say I've ever had a bad experience in Detroit.

What do they expect a carjacker to do? Smile while he politely asks you to exit your vehicle? Sheesh.

Anyone who walks around saying Detroit is a better place to live and be at then New York Chicago and possbly Los Angeles has obviously never been to New York, Chicago and possibly LA. People need to just start accepting reality and stop living in a fantasy world

I wouldn't say that Detroit is necessarily a better place to live than those three cities, for various reasons. But to say that Detroit is "angrier"? I wouldn't agree with that. I've lived in Chicago, where I witnessed a crossing guard cuss out a bunch of elementary school kids. Now I live in Los Angeles, where aggressive driving [[with the requisite hand gestures) is a bigger sport than NFL football will ever be. Whenever I come back to Detroit, I find that people are kinder and more considerate of others. Sometimes I wish Detroiters were angrier, and less willing to put up with certain things that folks in other cities [[for example, Chicago again) won't.

Detroit is what it is. Enjoy Detroit for what it is NOW! Angry? Sure. if you had to put up with the s+*t we've had to put up with for a half century, you'd be angry too. Personally, I think the citizens of Detroit [[and the metro area) deserve to be much angrier than they seem to be. Overall, remarkably peacable, considering the cards they've been dealt. Look around you. Wouldn't you be pissed? I've lived other places and I still love Detroit. Lot's of good and cool stuff around here that is completely overlooked by detractors and the ?media? that's just trying to cause s+&t.
