Default A type of Portmeirion for Detroit"

Henry Ford Village is in Dearborn and Portmeirion is in Wales.
So many people decry the lost architecture of Detroit but we have examples
of salvaged areas here and overseas. Hell, even Livonia has an area
over by Newburgh and Eight Mile for some old historic buildings displaced
    though out the city.
It would be nice if some group formed together and made a village of salvaged
gems. Down the road, said village could be a tourist attraction and maybe pay for itself.
Enclosed is an example of a salvaged piece from Portmeirion.

Actually it's "Greenfield Village" and Henry Ford had buildings from all over the States and some from Europe disassembled brick by brick and reassembled in his "village". However, it would be impossible to re-locate mid-rise buildings.

Untrue - Universal Glove [[now John King Books) was moved to its current site when the Lodge was built. There may be a practical limit, but it's bigger than you might think.

It's too bad that when they razed the few remaining buildings to build MGM Grand Casino... that they didn't move Fiona's Tea House [[a 1876 structure) over to Corktown... ditto for that rare group of rowhouses in the casino footprint as well.
