    Default Future Fatburger's Lights On.

I was walking back to the WSU dorms from Biggby Coffee and noticed that the Fatburger lights were on and there were multiply laders and tools inside. Anyone else have any details about the opening date?

My guess is that its somewhere between Woodward/Canfield and 3rd/Anthony Wayne and Warren.

What happened to the one in Southfield? It was open for a couple years and then one day it was dark.

I went there a couple of times. Pretty good. A little pricey but satisfying.

Is Fatburger anything like Five Guys? Surprised that the latter hasn't opened in Midtown yet... I think they'd do very well.

There is no Michigan location on the company's web site: http://www.fatburger.com/location/locationsbystate.aspx

Fatburger is awesome, I like it better than Five Guys. What Detroit also needs is a Smashburger, which is my favorite, even more so than the much vaunted In-N-Out. It is a chain that started in Denver recently. The founder is an MSU guy from Grand Rapids. What's more, they source all of their beef from Detroit's very own Wolverine Packing.

I went to the one in Sofld also, but it was about 2 1/2 years ago. There had been a sign for Fatburger hanging in what was at the time, a newly constructed building, on Mich Ave in west Dearborn. I think the sign hung there for almost 2 yrs before it came down last fall. It never even had any work occurring inside. Their track record around here seems iffy. However, if they can get something opened, more power to them.

The Owner of Fatburger has failed to make finances with the contractor so a temporary lien has been place at most of its location. There will no Fatburger Restuarants until the monies are sorted out.

I didn't think it was that expensive. After I went there a few times I decided Burger Kind was a good or better. My office is near there, I'm kinda sorry they left. Their business had dropped way off though, at the beginning there were lines out the door. Near the end they were almost empty even during the lunch hours.
