    Note that in the Matthew Vadum interview, Vadum made the Freudian slip of stating, not once but twice [[at 5:12 and 6:32), [[paraphrasing) "food stamps problem, er, program."

    The food stamps program is, and has always been, intended to be a solution, not a problem.

    I take this as a strong indication of the existence of the meme afloat in the culture that even deserving recipients of public assistance should be deprived of that assistance and that to deprive them so is wrong.

    This is a counterproductive meme. Think about it.
