A report shows that there have been 150 million views of fake US political news on Facebook. Fake news come from both sides, with about two thirds aimed at Democrats.
The amount of fake news has shown a considerable increase since the 2016 election, which does not give much confidence for 2020. Many of the fake news posts and misinformation are from individuals with fake memes and aimed at making the poster money through advertising.
Judd Legum joined Thom to discuss the latest on online fake news and whether it is paid-for propaganda.
