Vanishing on 7th Street - the movie

Today's Los Angeles Times had a generally positive review of the new film "Vanishing on 7th Street", which you can read at

It is in very limited release in L.A. and I don't know how much of it was filmed on the streets of Detroit, but I definitely want to see the film.

Caught it on pay per view a couple of weeks ago, too dark to recognize much and the
story was goofy. Recognized the 94 Freeway

Today's paper indicates that the interior bar shots were done at Kovac's in Delray, also the exterior shots of Sonny's bar were also done in sw Detroit - anyone got any idea of what bar that was?

Some sets were rigged up on Junction Ave. near St. Hedwigs: a bakery, a police precinct and a bar. The exterior of the bar was really an old but closed bar on Junction very near that storage warehouse on Junction. I think the guy who owns the warehouse owns the bar building which now seems to house a second-hand business. The bar is recognizable by its red tile exterior
