    Default former Hudson's site.

    Does anyone know what is being proposed for the former Hudson's site? I would told that those beams that are protruding out of the ground could support an 80 story building.

    Nothing planned on the site of the "girder farm" so far that I'm aware of... and from what was mentioned on this forum in the past... those beams cannot support more than about 15-18 floors.

    Is that site owned by the city, or DEGC?

    Let's see, Hudson's, Uniroyal, Tiger Stadium, The Madison-Lennox, all sites that had to be torn down according to The City of Detroit because they insisted there was big time demand to develop the sites. I can understand some of the old structures had to go, but most of this was pure bull puckey....Thank god for the Book/Sheraton Cadillacs and Kales Buildings, etc.

    Sad but true 1KielsonDrive...

    I'm hoping I'm right about Quicken moving most of their operations into the Grand Circus Park neighborhood. It could give Dan Gilbert an opportunity to possibly do something with the Ilitch Holdings owned [[and metal framework braced) Fine Arts Building facade, now that the collapsing wood frame Fine Arts Building structure [[and Adams auditorium) behind it are gone...
