Default Need driver/assistance for Detroit trip next week.

    Hi,
I have a few things to do in Detroit next week, one of the things is visit a lawyer and have some documents created, then visit Wayne County register of deeds, I would like assistance if poss, just local knowledge and dealing with the council.

It would be great if the person has knowledge of the city, and of aquiring homes to buy then renovate etc.

I dont have a big budget, one man band, staying near the Renaissance Center.

If this person was into photography and drove, this would be even better, I'll pay fuel and some compensation for assisting, so as well as helping deal with Wayne County Register and helping find [[And deal with future homes on the ground in Detroit when Im back home, where a normal wage/percentage agreed) homes for us.

Let me know, open to suggestions, I've had a quote but cant afford it, we're just starting out and want to make regular trips to Detroit, really interested in the city.

Im arriving on the 6th, so it would be the 7th to 12th of Feb.

Would love to see some culture, photograph what means a lot to those in Detroit, but most importantly need helping hand dealing with Register of Deeds and lawyer.

    Many thanks

    Im from the UK

You should talk to Django. He drives, he knows the city, degree in photography and does home rennovation. Hired him several times. Super good work

Registrar of deeds is no biggy. Go in take a #, wait forever, file your papers. Pay for copies.

Avoid council if you can. Hugh jack asses! Every Detroiter knows that.

Own two properties but acquired through inheritance, so no good advice on buying or selling. Lots of good attorneys in this town. I use two myself and related to loads of others. My situation is little different than yours so don't want to do a referral.

It's legal here to advertise specialties so look up real estate specialists. Find one you like!

    Good luck.

Thank you very much. I tried to send a PM to django, but his mailbox is full, must be popular!

    Will call Django.

Thank you for your help, a recommended low price real estate lawyer would be fantastic.

    Many thanks

Greminuk, do you have some ideas on what you want to see while your here? This is the perfect place to ask for suggestions. You couldn't ask for a better group of folks to guide you than here on Dyes. If you tell us your interests you'll get plenty of suggestions.

    Default Places and things!

Hi Django and all on DetroitYes
I think, positive places, positive people doing positive things. I dont mean wealth, I mean people that are happy doing things, to let people [[And me) see that Detroit has people who smile in it, people who enjoy Detroit and want to stay in Detroit.

Obviously Detroit has a community of people that love Detroit, otherwise everyone wouldnt be using this popular message board to discuss Detroit.

I know there are negative aspects of Detroit but these are another issue something to be sorted out internally, but also with the help of the US government and resources available.

Would love to photograph also new projects that have been built, Im in the process of arranging a few site visits.

Importantly, need to get the lawyer arranged, and probably a mobile notary, or lawyer who is also a notary.

Another thing is to find someone who can source properties, low cost ones, perhaps from auctions, to resell, marketing them in the Uk.

I know, thats a lot to look for!

    Many thanks

Don't forget about Hugh G. Rection, though, or Hugh Jazz, for that matter.

Jaques Strap? Oliver Clozoff? Has anybody seen Mike Rotch lately?

Sorry. Couldn't resist. That kind of thing calls to me.

Thanks Grem, and Sumas, Gnome, and PGN for the recommendations.

Unfortunately Im driving him around in a car with no heat among other car problems, ugh. Hes taking it with a smile though.

You should post a link to the pics your taking Grem. Hes got an great shot of Michael the Dread from Eastern Market and Greektown, that dudes a character. Also love the ones of the bridge from the Boblo building. Grem is an amazing photographer.

Hes trying to get in to see Mayor Bing if anyone has any ":ins" let either one of us know. Grem is a well known up and coming photographer in Scotland. Hes done a good deal of work for, I want to say, the Prime Minister there, correct me if Im wrong Grem. I didnt realize how accomplished he was back in his homeland, with him being so young, until yesterday when he happened to mention a few of his jobs back home.
