What counts more, having more vacant homes or helping folks stay in the city? I think this is a great initiative.

It's a gamble and it won't work for everyone, but for those homeowners who took the leap of faith, it's a great plan. I hope the county doesn't get upset over the whole thing because it is far better that this group is giving homeowners a chance to bid for their house. Many at-risk homeowners wouldn't have the resources to bid and secure their home at auction. If this group stays strong to their conviction of helping people and doesn't turn into a fly-by-night scheme, this will be a great resource for those people who own their own home but are falling behind on taxes.
